Addition using natural resources

Using natural resources, Ms. Elaine’s students practiced adding two sets. For a few minutes, the pupils had to spend going through the school garden and gathering two different kinds of items. In the end, they all showed each other the items they had discovered in the garden, including leaves, pomegranates, rope, and olives. We practiced addition of two different sets together.

eTwinning project See Earth like an Astronaut this year!

With collaborators from Greece, Portugal, and North Macedonia, Ms. Elaine is working on the eTwinning project See Earth like an Astronaut this year. The eTwinning Seminar in May 2023 in Vilnius, Lithuania, featured an overview of this project.

Students expect to gain skills in critical thinking, collaborative work, and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and maths) through this project. Additionally, it seeks to foster educational creativity and enhance students’ mental and emotional health.

As astronauts observe Earth from space, students will play the role of miniature space scientists.

We have worked together to create a promotional video, which you can view here:

Integration of Outdoor Learning with Digital Literacy

During the academic year 2022-2023, our school collaborated with Mtarfa Primary and Zabbar A Primary Schools, initiating a project aimed at promoting the integration of outdoor learning through digital literacy.

Educators devised various outdoor activities that incorporate digital devices as resources. All the contributions were showcased on padlets, accessible to everyone through the Integration of Outdoor Learning with Digital Literacy padlet. The culmination of the project took place during the outdoor activities organized at Buskett. Guided by Ms Laura Schembri, our Digital Literacy Support Teacher, and her counterparts from other colleges, we successfully provided an enriching experience to all participating classes.

A heartfelt thank you is extended to Ms Laura Schembri and Ms Rosalie Zammit for their unwavering support throughout this entire project. Equally, gratitude is extended to all our educators and learners; without their contributions, this project would not have been possible. Finally, special thanks are also conveyed to Ms Rose Anne Camilleri, eTwinning National Coordinator, Education Officer for her invaluable support.
